Swaledale, from Reeth
	A route of contrasts. The first section winds through the fertile farmland of the dale. Then you climb up to Tan Hill for the second section across high moorland before dipping back in to Arkengarthdale & returning to Reeth.
Reeth makes an excellent start & finish to this route. There's a choice of pubs serving food, plus cafes & ice cream shops. This is repeated in Gunnerside & Muker, with other hostelries scattered along the route, including the highest public house in England at Tan Hill. You may of course want to take along a picnic & stop off by the river Swale, or high on the moor or in quieter Arkengarthdale near the end of the route.
Experienced cyclists may want to tackle this route but be warned - the climb up to Tan Hill isn't a leasurely journey & you need to be quite fit. You can of course get off & push. However, you'll enjoy the long ride downhill back to Reeth!
