Rutland is Britain's smallest county but its a little gem for a Clues To Go route. A combination of history and beautiful countryside, as you circle Rutland Water from one historic town, Oakham, to another, Uppingham. |

Both Oakham & Uppingham boast fine & ancient public schools. Much of the village of Normanton has disappeared under Rutland Water reservoir. What remains of the old church sits close by the water's edge. |

Several nature reserves and a butterfly farm surround Rutland Water. Near Exton there's an Owl & Falconry centre. |
