After locating the answers to the first few questions on foot amongst the old coaching inns & alleyways off the High St. of Garstang, you drive under the motorway and into the Forest of Bowland. This area is so named not because it is covered in woodland (much of it is moorland) but because it was once a royal hunting ground. Halfway through the route you visit Chipping, in the Trough of Bowland, where the scenery turns into pastures & farmland. After enjoying all these pleasant vistas, you complete the route in Longridge. |
