Leaving Gilamoor you move on to the moors & Farndale, before descending back into picturesque Hutton Le Hole, with its workforce of woolly grass lawn cutters! You then ascend over the moor top and drop in to Rosedale Abbey village before moving on to Cropton (a village with its own brewery). |

After a slight detour to visit the Roman Camp, you finish this route in Pickering, home of the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway. The route is mainly on B roads, often narrow, uneven. It involves several stopovers where you will need to park the car and take a walk around a village. Market days can be busy for Kirkbymoorside and Pickering. Hutton Le Hole is very popular on summer weekends. |
