Caistor Circular Tour of the Wolds

A circular route starting & finishing in the small town of Caistor, located southwest of Grimsby. Turning off the M180 at Brigg you take the A1084 into the town. This route tours the backroads of the northern Lincolnshire Wolds - a delight on a sunny day, peaceful at any time of year.

Caistor, straddling the Viking Way long distance footpath, is a mainly Georgian town but with origins that date back to the Romans.

The chalk landscape of the Wolds, providing a pleasant backdrop to this route, was designated an Area of Outstanding Beauty in 1973.

Dotted along the route are the remains of several WWII airfields in various states of repair, including Waltham & Binbrook.
