Route Location

York, close by the Minster

See how much history is packed into such a small space in this very compact route that starts just outside the Minster's main entrance.

York, Micklegate to Monkbar

Take a walk around the medieval streets of York, but instead of looking in the quaint shop windows, look up to the rooftops, take a peak down the ancient alleyways. There's a lot hidden away there that hasn't changed for centuries.

Northern Wolds - Stamford Bridge to Sledmere

This route isn't really in the Vale of York - it just starts there, in the historic village of Stamford Bridge. Then it crosses the northern Yorkshire Wolds, concluding in the well-kept village of Sledmere.
